Today is the quarter point in the heavens between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox when the Sun is in Aquarius. The name itself explains much – candle = flame and mas = mass or celebration. The Earth begins the first signs of rebirth and life. All of nature stirs to awaken through budding of trees and many animals begin preparing to start families. To be in sync with this time of year, many celebrate by lighting bon fires and having church services to pay reverence. This is a wonderful time to align with nature and acknowledge the great awakening that is also within you. A single candle flame is sufficient. Having a meal with intention, accepting that you will be moving forward into a new time of greater light and blessings is also sufficient. If you find a bunch of people frolicking on a hillside with torches then great! Otherwise, your own personal moment of connecting is just as meaningful.

...LEADING INTO FRIDAY AND THE MOON IN SAGITTARIUS FROM 2:04 AM ET

 

Mercury in Capricorn until January 31 is good for getting to the bottom of things due to strengthened ability to focus and be logical. Serious, pragmatic conversations take place and your mind tends toward thoughts about security and management of your foundations. Friday, no angles from the Moon or planets and you’re motivated to think with hope and inspiration. Leading into tomorrow, Mercury conjunct Saturn further adds to serious thought.  Venus and Uranus also remind you of any issues with associations that may need to be addressed or else you might take a backseat to avoid unnecessary surprise or confrontation. By Sunday, the Sun forms the same angle to Uranus. Overall, you’re under a celestial influence of prodding, startling, and experiencing the unexpected. An example from my own diary is that, on my way home this evening I had to detour because the end of my street was blocked by police. I took another route and made it home safely. There had been an accident (Mercury and the unexpected Uranus) when a car approached the top of the hill just as a car from the side street was entering the road. Collision! It seems no one was hurt. That’s a blind spot and while I always stop before turning in, most driving behind me are unhappy about it. Mercury, in addition to ruling travel that is also ruled by Sagittarius, is communication, again, ruled by Sagittarius, which gives an idea of the energy afoot now and throughout Saturday and Sunday. How to work with it? Pay attention to what stresses you and be aware of your surroundings. You gain by study, recognizing and honoring your intuition. Before that event, I had unexpected and unusual encounters that weren’t negative though were out of the ordinary, for me anyway.

Harvest Moon, Asteroid Flyby, and Mars

★The Full Moon in Aries on October 5, also called Harvest Moon, producing rare moonbows. For the next two weeks is good for lessening and releasing what you don't want to keep. Clearing, cutting your hair, beginning a diet to lose weight, releasing anything you no longer want in your life, are all good ways to utilize the waning energy of the Moon.

★An asteroid (named 2012 TC4) will sweep close to earth around 1:42 AM on October 12 as close as 4,200 miles and our Earth’s gravity will alter its path somewhat. Later, at 3:19 PM it will pass by the Moon. We frequently have flybys though not always this close.

★Those who follow my work know I’ve been discussing the impact of Mars since before the June eclipse and its involvement with it. Usually, Mars energy moves along fast although this time, with the bond to the Sun during the eclipse, it continued and continues to be an influence. For three days in Mid-September, a solar storm made its way t Mars, crossing thresholds of ground-level radiation and producing auroras that rovers and observers have never before seen. It’s more common to happen on Mars because it lacks a magnetic field to protect it as we do on Earth. The field on Mars is 1% as thick as Earth’s. I think that intensified the influence of Mars on us all. It was in Leo until September 5 when it then moved into Virgo where it currently aligns with Venus. This is more soothing to the spirit although the impact of the eclipse that continues cannot be discounted.
