for the Animals

Hear
our humble prayer, O God, for our friends, the animals.
Especially
for animals who are suffering; for any that are
hunted
or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for
all that must be put to death.
We
entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and
for those who deal with them, we ask a
a
heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make
us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and
so to share the blessings of the merciful.

The Amish are one of the worse perpetrators of puppy mills in the nation. Dogs live in horrible conditions, extreme weather and no health care. They live in metal cages to breed until they either die of the living conditions or are too ill or old to produce more puppies. All the conditions are documented and they will not respond to reason.

So much has escalated to help animals, part as a result of the escalation of abuse that specific links are mostly not listed so it's recommended you do a search and pay attention to the reputation of each group to ensure your donations are honored appropriately.
It can be overwhelming to realize the horrific way animals are treated and as long as you're striving to do something you're helping. If you can't get out there directly there're petitions that cost nothing and takes only moments to sign.
