Mercury Retrograde Jan 30-Fb 20, 2021

JANUARY 30-FEBRUARY 20, 2021

Mercury is once again retrograde with this cycle beginning Saturday until February 20. It’s the first for the year and in an air sign as the other Mercury Retrograde cycles of 2021. This prolongs the sign activated by Mercury’s placement, Aquarius, that also houses Saturn, the Sun, Jupiter, and upcoming next week is Venus that will join them. It brings intensity due to angles from Mars so expect continuing words flying through media and also close to home. Most are adjusted now to wild cards and excitement where sifting through news for facts is like wrangling a herd of cats for a bath.

Aquarius isn’t always the peace and harmony the song, “This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius” portends as the always double-edge sword generates the unexpected, the strange, and the very unique energy of inventiveness.

Keys to managing the retrograde are tending to details and being thorough, double checking information and redoing what needs organizing. It’s not the best three weeks for signing an agreeing to anything major or making major purchases. Travel easily has delays or complications and all communication could be reversed or need taking a second look. Major organizations and groups may experience a shuffle and become disorganized as is planning for the future. Friendships are scrutinized with some suffering, miscommunication.

Sunday Inspiration - Breakthrough

Sunday is by many considered a day of rest and time to connect with higher consciousness (God), and find inspiration and solace, yet not all are afforded or otherwise enjoying that concept. Hope is ever more needed when the unknown looms. Miracles are often human-made stemming from inspiration that's the BREAKTHROUGH moment manifesting the future. Moments between thoughts allow genius, intuition and revelation.

Be Blessed

Uranus Direct - Full Force Head into the Future

JANUARY 14, 2021

Today, Uranus turns direct making all planets in our solar system direct for the next 16 days until Mercury is retrograde from January 30 to February 20, followed by another 66 days of direct motion. It’s often thought retrograde is negative although now, and likewise direct motion is commonly taught positive, which is also not necessarily factual. All depends on the planet and how it angles others; a bit like a major highway that can be either has smooth flowing traffic or a traffic jam, or even an accident! Right now Uranus and all planets direct could b e an escalation of action causing intensity and reactions to those intense ideas, feelings and matters already at play. Uranus governs the unexpected, chaos, sudden left turns, wildness, originality, invention, shock (literally as it rules lightening) and whatever is unknown. The solar system moving forward is picking up speed and as the reported planet, Earth has also picked up speed of rotation, there can be organized momentum for movements and gathering of purpose. It’s both evolutionary and reactive to Pluto having already triggered rebirth and transmutation. Uranus direct is in the sign Taurus, governing income, finances, values individually and collectively. It’s the tangible world, principles, and how one seeks gratification. Throughout the month and 2021 it’s generating of revolution.

The Wolf Moon of 2021

WEDNESDAY, JANUART 13, 2021 - THE WOLF MOON IN CAPRICORN

Here we are, as of midnight ET the Capricorn New Moon began a 2wk cycle for building, making for a time to plant seeds and move forward. As I've been discussing in the weekly column (on the website), Mars, Saturn and Uranus play a significant role throughout the month, which is not easy as these 3 planets don't integrate well. Mars, planet of war, Saturn either blocks or stabilization, and Uranus, the wild card since it rules things like lightening. The prod to react is powerful that seems to lack comfort individually. While energy of 2020 was harsh, 2021 is more flexible yet is kind of a ride you might take at a carnival. The undercurrent is choosing wisely and being flexible. For these next 2wks it's helpful to see your options and formulate (Saturn) how you want to proceed in the days ahead. This is the 1st New Moon of the year and conjunct Pluto - intense! Truth is on the line as part of stark realities. Feelings run deep. In many cultures it's coined The Wolf Moon. God bless our elders and kindred, the wolves.

Pets & Animals List of Toxic Plants

The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) wants to make sure you are prepared for 2021—at least when it comes to all things pet-related. Throughout the last year, APCC received thousands of calls, many of which pertained to toxic plants and pets ingesting them. And to help pet parents stay prepared, we’ve got a list of the top 10 toxic plants APCC received the most calls about in 2020.

Read on to know which plants to watch out for and how you can protect your pets!

  • ·         Lilies, including Asiatic lilies and daylilies, can be toxic to both dogs and cats, however the effects are much more severe in cats. Signs and symptoms in dogs tend to be limited to stomach upset, though any eaten bulbs could potentially cause a stomach or intestinal blockage. However, any exposure in cats, including leaves, bulbs, flowers, pollen or water that the flowers have been sitting in, can cause acute kidney injury and even death. While they may be nice to look at, it might be best to leave the lilies in the flower shop!
  • ·         Azaleas and rhododenrons can have different effects depending on the amount ingested by dogs, cats and horses. In large ingestions, these plants can cause severe signs like irregular heartbeats and seizures. Typically, only a mild stomach upset is seen with small ingestions in small animals.
  • ·         Sago palms are highly toxic to small animals and overall dangerous to all pets. While the entire plant is toxic, the seeds or nuts, are the most toxic part. Sago palms can cause severe vomiting and diarrhea, difficulty clotting the blood, liver failure and even death. So, it may be best to keep these out of your yard!
  • ·         Tulips, though beautiful, can cause stomach upset, which in some cases can be severe. If large chunks of the bulbs are ingested, it can also cause stomach or intestinal blockage.
  • ·         Hydrangeas have the potential to be very dangerous as they contain cyanide. However, it is most common to only see signs of stomach upset in dogs and cats when they ingest this plant. Although cyanide poisoning in small animals is very unlikely, it’s best to keep your furry friends from eating this plant.
  • ·         Peace lilies may add a modern flare to your flowerpot, but they are unfortunately toxic to our pets. Luckily, it is unlikely for signs to be severe. Peace lilies contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause stomach upset, drooling and mouth pain. But, since they are not absorbed systemically, they don’t cause organ damage.
  • ·         Devil’s Ivy or pothos have the same toxic concerns as Peace lilies, meaning the signs are unlikely to be severe and should not warrant medical attention unless the stomach upset becomes more than mild. Nonetheless, be mindful of your pet around this plant, no one likes a belly ache!
  • ·         Lantana can certainly add a pop of color to your home, but in rare cases, can cause liver failure in cats and dogs. It is very unlikely and uncommon unless the plant is eaten over a long period of time or in very large amounts. Typically, the most common symptom of ingestion is stomach upset.
  • ·         Daffodils can cause stomach upset if ingested, which in some cases can be severe. If large chunks of the bulbs are eaten, it is possible a stomach or intestinal blockage or low blood pressure can occur. Be sure to keep any daffodils away from curious four-legged friends!
  • ·         Hostas make for some gorgeous greenery in a backyard. But be sure to pay attention to your pets around them as they can cause stomach upset. Luckily, veterinary care is not typically needed unless the stomach upset is more than mild following an ingestion.

Aligning with 2021

The first few days of the January seemed almost as a dream, nebulous and not quite registering yet that a new year has begun. It’s as if many are in a holding pattern and not quite sure positive things are to come, though they are. Life cycle numbers are not exactly numerology yet fall into the mathematical patterns as astrology that is a resonation, almost like a sound heard intuitively. 2020 was hard as was the number itself, a four that in 2019 I suggested was a cautionary energy and personally not a favorite and also better to prepare for changes across the board. 2019 is a 4 that is often associated with downfalls, and it could also be considered a 22 which is a master number that’s equally challenging as it calls for finding higher balance which is fragile and exacting. Five (5), the number of 2021 is complex and also creative that brings opportunity to be innovative and original. I can only imagine the work that writers will create as the intuitive energy is strong, and with the Aquarian energy is innovative and pushes to make a new reality.
