2013 SUMMER SOLSTICE

It's the SUMMER SOLSTICE (and winter for my friends in the southern hemisphere) that is the longest day and shortest night of the year. This happens precisely at 1:04 AM ET when the sun is at zero degrees Cancer making the day infused with powerful energy. It's been celebrated for centuries to revere nature and is a magical vibration to connect with through taking time to commune with the elements in whatever way works best for you. It may be that you sit in your garden, go to the ocean or a wooded area but whatever you do, even simply acknowledging the sky, sun and stars taps into the magnificent power for strength, healing and manifestation. For some this is a religious day to honor the Gods and all nature. There are two solstices a year, summer and winter divided in the middle by two equinoxes that are quarter points of the earth’s coordinates to the sun. As it's the point following the spring equinox it's about life in abundance reaching a peak after the birthing last March when life began again. It’s marks realization of what one has accumulated and the fruition of these last months. You may have gained monetarily or otherwise yet there is always the spiritual journey to recognize and realize. Regardless of what’s happened, easy or difficult there is the spirits refinement as a result of experience. It’s not always clear or simple to decipher though this is a day to ask for answers and to have/receive/manifest peace with it all. There is an answer even if veiled. An affirmation I wrote for today is: “I accept all abundance and what I’ve garnered thus far in my life and I receive divine revelation that brings peace. I honor my experiences that connect me closer to God.” If you say this I hope it gives you a sense of calm and strength. Today is, in a way, a day of rest, a kind of Sunday when ones honors the spirit and taking time to settle.
